ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop strategies and identify opportunities to maximize revenue and freight income across the organization. Actively managing a portfolio of carriers that support the inbound freight to our markets, ensuring consistency, while maximizing revenue and reducing transportation costs.
Oversee the vendor conversion process - developing and directing innovative strategies - to transition freight to be managed by USF (versus third party).
Manage systems used to serve up freight savings opportunities (TMS, Crossbow, etc.) and ensure there are standard operating procedures for the freight management processes.
Oversee vendor relationships as they pertain to planning and execution - ensure a collaborative environment, maximize efficiencies within vendor network, hold vendors accountable against performance guarantees. Manage vendor performance through expectations, measurements and aligned goals. Work with business to improve overall supply chain to reduce cost and waste.
Manages business intelligence and analytics function within supply chain which includes utilization of off shore analytical resources. Ensure operational performance is consistently measured and analyzed against metrics. Utilize analysis to identify opportunities and solutions for improvement.
Lead a team which works directly with the National sales team on development of customer proposals (market mapping, inbound cost, freight savings opportunities).

BA/BS degree in Business, finance, similar field or equivalent experience required. MBA preferred.
