Position Summary:

OVERVIEW

  • Perform tasks in a safe and professional manner.
  • Repair of painted walls, furniture, equipment, and stained and varnished surfaces of building structures and furniture.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Prepare and paint surfaces using proper application and techniques using various products.
  • Plaster or spackle surfaces
  • Mix paint colors to match existing colors.
  • Apply paint to all building and equipment surfaces with brushes, rollers and or spray guns.
  • Install and repair covered wall and ceiling surfaces throughout the facility.
  • Hang vinyl, paper, and fabric wall coverings of various types.
  • Maintain and repair caulked, grouted and masonry surfaces throughout the facility.
  • Prepare and maintain wood surfaces requiring staining, varnishing and lacquering.
  • Apply stains and develop a finished product from unstained wood or existing finished wood.
  • Maintain service documentation via Computerized Maintenance Management System
  • Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas.
  • Maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.
  • Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs
  • Maintain tools, parts, equipment and supplies in clean and safe condition
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience operating and maintaining hand tools and power equipment.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • General knowledge of building construction with knowledge in all trades, but strongest in the painting.
  • Visual ability to identify colors and patterns, measure lengths and quantities and assess areas for repair.
  • An ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time and lift 50 pounds.
  • Basic organizational skills and the ability to effectively communicate thoughts and ideas through verbal and written form.
  • Must be able to read and understand and communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas through verbal and written form.
  • Ability to seek outside resources, as needed.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to interact constructively with peers/teams
  • Candidate must be willing to work in a multi-skilled team environment.
 
 
HOURS
  • Ability to work assigned shifts to provide adequate coverage, and support on-call coverage, as assigned.
  • May be required to work overtime to meet deadlines.
  • Open to working off hours or call back in emergencies.
