Electrical Engineering Manager

Position Summary:
OVERVIEW
Thorough knowledge of sound electrical design engineering practice and principles through all phases of work (planning, design, estimating, scheduling, construction) and general knowledge of applicable codes and design methodologies.
Demonstrated knowledge of building electrical systems, including high, medium, and low voltage distribution, multiple voltages and frequencies, lighting systems, emergency generator systems, mission critical systems, and fire alarm systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide technical design support to the design team for electrical design projects.
- Technical design support includes electrical load calculations, electrical engineering theory, use of design parameters and applicable codes and regulations as applied to facilities design.
- Conducts technical engineering inspections, studies and audits of existing infrastructure to facilitate maintenance, service expansion, and provide optimum system performance and reliability.
- Design of medium, and low voltage systems. Design of fire alarm and life safety systems.
- Ability to understand multi-disciplinary coordination issues.
- Design and constructability reviews of outside A&E firms’ designs.
- Provide on-site inspections of current projects for conformance with contract documents.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (EE)
- 7+ years EE construction experience with significant portion w/DOD SCIF construction and design
- JFAN experience, a must
- Experience in the Electrical Consulting Engineering field
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
- Professional engineering registration, preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of DOD project protocols including SCIF ICD-705 standards preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated professional manner with excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work well and effectively with team members to produce a quality product.
- Ability to interpret and carry out complex oral and written instructions and feedback including the reading and interpretation of construction documents and specifications.
