Main Activities/Duties/Responsibilities

 

Incumbent must ensure that all operations within the facility are following applicable SOPs and work instructions during his/her assigned shift; perform safety process checks, such as MIP’s, to ensure compliance; direct and assign work to meet daily production schedules and maintain plant operating standards; make adjustments to work priorities and schedules as needed; become actively involved in production, process or product abnormality investigation and resolution; help to determine root cause and makes changes as necessary; complete all required production process paperwork and maintains applicable databases i.e. shift notes, batch closings, downtime records etc.; provide hands-on equipment and operating expertise as required. The supervisor will perform accident investigations, corrective actions and report documentation as necessary; train and/or coordinate the training and re-training of associates; complete and document performance evaluations; maintain vacation schedules, complete timesheets and counsel/discipline associates with applicable documentation; handle projects and other duties as assigned by the Production/ Distribution Manager or Plant Manager.  Sustain and improve Human Performance metrics.

Experience and Education
 

Qualified applicants must have 5-7 years prior manufacturing experience preferably in a chemical coatings batch production environment; possess prior supervisory or lead experience and proven track record of getting results; exhibit strong leadership skills and be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization; possess strong problem solving skills and the ability to quickly diagnose a production problem and take corrective action; have proficient computer skills utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; and be able to meet any and all requirements for working in a chemical manufacturing environment.  Able to learn and master the Oracle environment for production and distribution functions.

 
 Must successfully complete Virtual Supervisor Assessment.
