The Refinish Marketing Manager role is to provide marketing and communications related support and direction to the PPG Refinish organization consisting of all PPG Refinish departments, sales force as well as support external support as needed including jobber and body shops requests based on significant need.
The incumbent is responsible for upholding the image of PPG Refinish through the creation and communication of PPG Refinish’s value through the support and execution of the business’ communication plan.
Areas of impact: All marketing department needs including product management, training, color, programs and services, customer service, marketing communications, as well as sales, and PPG Refinish customers including jobbers and end users
FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work closely with the all of marketing and product management to develop communication initiatives that support growth goals and deepen engagement with the given target markets.

Lead role in marketing communications initiatives (including PR, media, tradeshows, collateral development) aimed at the refinish target market through the delivery of impactful, strategic programs in support of segment goals and growth targets.

Develop and implement impactful, integrated communication programs for Refinish product commercialization and launches. Ensure that strategic objectives, budgets, and plans are being established and that metrics are being developed and reported.

Assist with the planning, development and overall management of national and regional sales events and meetings, working closely with team members from Product Marketing, Training, Color Marketing, and Sales to execute a well-organized and impactful meeting that supports business objectives.

Develop and execute marketing communications programs for the Refinish product lines through sales tools, merchandising, photography, video, public relations, direct marketing, and online efforts in alignment with Refinish brand standards and initiatives.

Organize, coordinate, track and communicate project timetables, meeting deadlines, and obtaining legal and corporate approvals.

Ensure that communication materials meet global brand development guidelines and standards.

Aggressively manage outside vendor resources in the planning and execution of all activities noted above

Ensure timely workflow and communication of project status to all stakeholders.
Requires:
-
4-year degree required with concentration in marketing or communications
-
5 years business experience in marketing or communications
-
5 years experience working in an advertising/marketing communications client services role desired.
-
Public relations and media placement.
-
Demonstrated success in an integrated marketing communications environment for a manufacturer.
-
Knowledge of automotive refinish, industrial coatings, commercial paint industry a strong plus.Other Skill Sets

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple outside vendor resources.

Ability to handle budget concerns per project as well as general budget forecasting.

Excellent communication skills across organization levels.

Must use judgment in making best decisions. Incumbent must be able to take initiative on their own, in making sound decisions and resolving problems. Take initiative in finding solutions on the spot and provide future direction.

Incumbent must know how to get cooperation from others, have tact, diplomacy, and good judgment in dealing with internal and external customers. Will also work in contact with Refinish sales and marketing staff, jobbers and vendors consisting of:

Coordinate needed information from all internal departments.

Work with internal staff to develop ongoing ideas and solutions.

Will follow up with sales and customers in regards to any possible needs.

Good presentation skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express and relay complex technical concepts in audience appropriate terms.

Strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills

Ability to muli-task and handle demands / needs of many departments.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe applications.
