Position Description 

 

This job posting is a part of the Global Support Services Team within the PPG Global IT Infrastructure team located at PPG’s headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Global Support Services Team includes responsibilities for monitoring and alerting, network operations, process improvement and automation, end user performance management, as well as storage and data protection services.

 

The IT Infrastructure Manager I/ II is part of the Infrastructure Management track within the IT function. Incumbents are responsible for the coaching, development and direct supervision of technical personnel. There is a strong focus on maintaining IT relationships with business unit customers and infrastructure suppliers. Incumbents contribute to the achievement of business unit objectives through the effective and efficient management of IT infrastructure projects and staff.

 

Business

 

The IT Infrastructure Manager I/ II contributes to the achievement of IT business objectives by managing the delivery of technically sound and cost effective IT infrastructure solutions. They collaborate with business unit customers, staff members, IT colleagues, and other stakeholders to define business requirements and assess available technologies to support the development of sustainable IT infrastructure solutions.

 

Technical

 

The IT Infrastructure Manager I/ II position supervises individual contributors and project teams. They demonstrate superior coaching skills and are actively responsible for conducting the P&LP process for their direct reports. They delegate responsibility to others and establish team priorities. They resolve conflict while fostering a good team environment in order to fulfill organizational operating objectives. They must be able to work and communicate effectively with personnel at all levels within and across the organization. They are expected to maintain good relationships with business unit customers and IT colleagues alike to meet customer expectations and IT infrastructure service levels.#JB1

 

Minimum Required Qualifications 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.
  • 10- 15 years of experience in IT systems implementations & support. 

Skills

  • An expert understanding of current and emerging IT Infrastructure technologies.
  • Extensive analytical abilities and skills to champion the most feasible and economical solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and effectively participate in teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in audience appropriate terms.
