The incumbent is responsible for production activities for one or more production areas on one shift, but could cut across shifts, including planning, overseeing work assignments, performance coaching / counseling and serving as a resource for wage associates. The products manufactured are accomplished through established processes or procedures in accordance with time, quality and cost parameters. The incumbent leads team meetings and facilitates continuous improvements in the process with emphasis on quality, reduction of cost and substandard product loss (SSPL). The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the production of a quality product and meeting production / customer specifications. Incumbent also facilitates improvements in the areas of process, safety and quality.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
The incumbent requires practical and theoretical knowledge of coatings production normally gained with production experience of at least 5 years. S/he should possess excellent organizational skills and functional technical knowledge to solve problems arising out of production or warehousing processes.
Production Supervisor
Experienced frontline supervisor, with 10 years of relevant experience, assigned to area or shift to provide oversight and direction to the manufacture of products. The incumbent utilizes previous experience in related positions to make judgments, solve problems and take steps to ensure continuous improvement in the process and the quality of the product. He/she sets priorities that are subject to adjustment within his/her scope of control. Positions supervised are normally semi-skilled or skilled jobs that require a moderate amount of training to perform. Crews supervised are generally moderate in size numbering up to approximately 20-40 individuals. Incumbent has had at least two years experience in Supervisor III role.
