PPG Industrial Coatings produces coatings for appliances, agricultural and construction equipment, consumer electronics, automotive parts, residential and commercial construction, wood flooring and many other finished products.
 
PPG Industrial Coatings is committed to ongoing research and development of innovative technologies. From pre-treatment and electrocoat, to liquid, powder and even ultra-violet (UV) and electro-beam (EB) coatings, PPG can meet virtually any coatings challenge.
 
Located in Oak Creek, Wisconsin and reporting to the Sr. Manager, Customer Service the Customer Service Supervisor will manage 8-11 Customer Service Representatives for liquid paint, powder, pretreatment and/or e-coat technologies.  Daily guidance, leadership, training, support and individual development of the CSR’s is required to carry out their responsibilities.  S/he will become successful by learning our technologies, reviewing order priorities and working collaboratively with Technical, Quality, Production and Shipping to ensure on-time delivery performance.  In order to do this successfully s/he will have to build strong relationships with external customers and internal stakeholders including plant managers and the Commercial Team to ensure alignment in meeting customer needs.  This is a day position but you will be the first point of contact and required to handle any emergencies that happen during off shifts.
 
Additional Responsibilities
  • Work with Customer Service Manager to develop and implement team goals. 
  • Meeting company goals and metrics including On Time in Full reporting for shipping material on time to customers
  • Develop a proactive stance in dealing with all customer service related problems and implement appropriate action plans to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Continually work to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the department using Quality processes.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 5 years (overall) of Customer Service experience in manufacturing
  • At least 3 years customer service supervision experience

Skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders
  • Proven ability to build, develop, motivate and successfully lead a team of direct reports
  • Excellent customer service and problem solving skills
  • Strong organization skills with ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
